Honesty, The truth to be told

Honesty is a character trait that needs to be respected. Everyone deserves an honest answer to a question. Dishonesty can cause another person to believe and follow a lie. A person may only end up hurting himself or herself by telling an untruth, due to guiltiness of telling something that is not true. There is no real replacement for honesty, and the truth will eventually be known anyway, either by owning up because of the amount of guilt or the tracking of a dishonest person, so there isn't any point in being dishonest. Honesty cannot be avoided, people may regret being dishonest later in life, if not now. Also, some situations come to a complete standstill if there is no honesty shown and then there is no moving forward in life. This is why I believe honesty is an important character trait.
