I think that respect is important because , if you want respect from others, you have to give it to the person you want it from. Being disrespectful can also result to people calling you names and spreading rumors about you. Same with first impressions. For example, when I was in elementary school, I had a really nice friend. She gave my parents lots of respect and they respected her back. Then when she hit middle school, she was very disrespectful to me, my friends, and my family(everyone accept my brother). After that, no one respected her anymore. Not even her parents. That is why I say, respect others and they will return the respect.
