Honesty is an important trait because it shows that you can be trusted. Also you say the truth to your friends and family if you do something wrong. It shows that someone will do the right the thing like if you are looking for something that you losted you can trust that person to help you find it. When your honest you can get respect from people because you will always do the right thing if something is wrong and not lie about it.
